Duties/Responsibilities

- Recommending upgrades to equipment to the steering committee

As an efficient Planner, you will be required to help our clients achieve their requirements or ultimate experience. You will be responsible for coordinating and executing successful weddings & events, from assisting with theme to managing all the detailed preparations, you will be responsible for handling all the activities and ensuring they are carried out correctly. You will be coordinating with the guests to identify their requirements and liaising with our suppliers and vendors to source the required materials and services. You will also be able to create a time-line of all wedding-day/social event activities for each client to ensure that everything remains on schedule.

In addition you will support the Meeting & Events department on other venue's events by collating, co-ordinating and distributing information between clients and venue departments, whilst ensuring the highest standards of service are achieved. Your duties will entail maintaining a good working relationship with our clients and ensuring that final details are confirmed and all sales enquiries are followed up, assisting to convert tentative reservations into confirmed bookings.

You must have a comprehensive knowledge of the requirements within Meeting and Events including facilities, set-ups and services available. You must be able to meet deadlines, have some computer skills and an excellent telephone manner including the ability to provide seamless service delivery with a nothing is too much trouble, attitude. Excellent organisation skills and the ability to multi-task are essential. To be succeed as a Wedding & Social Event Planner within our company, you should be methodical and adept at handling difficult or stressful situations. Suitable Wedding & Social Event Planners should keep abreast of the latest industry trends as well as demonstrate exceptional communication, organisation, and customer service skills. The successful applicant will be happy to maintain their daily tasks but thrive to jump in and assist others when really needed. Experience in clerical demands for a busy office is needed for this position and common sense to be able to assist others in different areas will be required from time to time. A good telephone manor is a must (with extra languages being a bonus here & resulting in higher earnings) together with good typing skills & fluency in common office applications. The ability to use simplified web platforms and user interfaces will be needed at times however the right person if not familiar in this area would easily pick it up in no time.
