Family Shoot - Cabopino (selected)

PhotoMarbella Photoshoot (96 of 350 photos) Mum Sarah Williams & her lovely family originally from Australia contacted us and asked us to take some photos of their youngest child and the rest of the family in our studio. After Sarah explained that they were more of a natural “country type” family, we suggested that an outdoor shoot may give them more variety and a better choice of natural styles. They agreed and asked us to recommend a location in Marbella that was “green” and to avoid the stereotypical Puerto Banus/Golden Mile gardens or golf course type greenery, instead, more of a Spanish "campo type" natural feel. As 99% of our shoots are at prestigious venues, hotels, villas and cortijo´s all suitable for weddings and suchlike, we jumped at the chance to photograph a rare natural location shoot and just knew from Sarah´s Facebook that they were going to be great to capture. After not much looking at all, we had a list of varied locations in and around Marbella that were perhaps suitable for such use and we sent Sarah an interactive maplink where she could view the locations and more as they are added. Sarah was planning on taking a drive out to look at 3 of these locations, well that was until one of our photographers suggested a location he had previously used for a bride & groom´s portrait session. It was a simple spot in the campo, just 2 minutes inland from Cabopino port but it sounded as if it had the single location variety we wanted. The photographer we had allocated to Sarah´s booking (Rich from RichPhotoVideo.com) had popped past the location and taken just a couple of random shots showing the choices there and once Sarah saw them she immediately chose this as the location they would use. We were aware that this was just a "regular spot in the campo" but it had many different sceneries to offer, it had sea views in the horizon from one angle, hills & mountain ranges from another, a small village type arrangement on one hill, an old derelict and abandoned finca, a broken stone wall that we had our eyes on as a great point, horses grazing in the field of an opposing finca and the very green grounds of Cabopino Golf if needed. The bad weather was getting worse in the week prior to this session, it rained a few times and on the Sunday of the shoot the skies were extremely grey and overcast, not forgetting the extreme winds too. We had hoped however that by late afternoon the weather would cheer up a bit, but no such luck and never the less and after a chat to Sarah, we all decided to go ahead. The session started with a casual walk along the path by the finca to allow some familiarity for all. The white and grey clouds were covering the pre-planned spot for the main family portrait and so it was up to the expertise of the photographer to think on their feet and find new and more idealistic angles. Thankfully this was made easier as the kids were all very well behaved and this rarity nowadays made it a little easier for the photographer to locate those points where the scenery was pleasing and interesting when needed, but not obtrusive to overpower the focal point family members of the portrait session. You should see in the images, that there are some fantastic shots despite everything that could go wrong under these conditions as this is where we pride ourselves and our photographers in the ability to adapt to any type of environment. One of the many perks of us hiring photographers from our database (rather than outsourcing) is security that because they are representing PhotoMarbella, most photographers will put in that extra bit of effort that we insist on, this secures more work for the photographer in the future and naturally advertises their own career better through our large network. All our photographers shoot continuously throughout the session and with this particular session, Sarah was offered a minimum of 50 images from a one hour shoot. The amount given is always more and the Williams family for example received 97 selected images and also after seeing some previews of other shots not selected, they asked us to process the other 250+ from the session also which we offer for a small extra charge to cover studio post production time. The quality of the images seen here are of course limited to your device/browser´s capabilities and setup (to a maximum resolution of just 850 X 567px - which is less than 15% of the original quality), so if you are interested in our service and would like to see the selected images in their full hi-resolution (max 22.1Megapixel - 5760 × 3840px), Sarah has kindly allowed us to offer you a download of their gallery which is available upon request. Thank you to Sarah and her lovely family for allowing us to capture some memories for them and we look forward to their new booking this Christmas.
